Citizen's Lecture in Sophia Forest No.5: “Enjoy the Late Autumn Forest”

I participated as a lecturer in the final event of this year organized by the Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies, Sophia University (November 13, Karuizawa Town). The weather forecast was rainy from the afternoon, but in the morning the weather was warm and we were all enjoying the forest that changes from autumn to winter. Before the start, we heard from Special Advisor Mr. Otsuki about how the beech forest on Mt. Nabekura was protected and the story of the fall of the giant tree Moritaro. Participants walked on the forest trail filled with fallen leaves, and were impressed by the scene of larch and serrata leaves falling like snow. We could also enjoy the last autumn leaves and mushrooms, as well as various nuts. In addition, my latest book, "From the World's Forests to SDGs" (Sophia University Press), was introduced.
