Tohoku Agriculture and Forestry College, which will open in Yamagata Prefecture in April next year, will have Japan's only Department of Holistic Forestry Management. "Holistic Forestry" refers to a wide range of forest businesses that focus not only on timber production but also on various forest ecosystem services such as forest service industries and carbon credits.
