Spring activities of Iwaizumi Matsutake Mountain Restoring Cooperation Corps Conducted

I have participated in the spring activities of the Iwaizumi Matsutake Mountain Restoring Cooperation Corps, which was held from May 13th to 15th. This is an activity in which volunteers from Tokyo and other areas restore the pine mountains under the guidance of instructors in order to resolve the increasing number of under-maintained mountains due to aging. It was launched with the support of the Sophia University INNFES Project. Until last year, it was carried out only by local members due to covid, but this time conducted with a large number of people including participants from Tokyo for the first time. The university students in Tokyo couldn't participate in the university training because of the covid, were so  happy to have such an opportunity. At this work site, we decided not to remove the top soil heavily as we did last year, but to conduct some thinning of shrubs (the photo shows the activity scene). The outcomes of these sites should be comparatively monitored.
